Mitsubishi has taken another swing at boosting the appeal of its reborn Mirage, introducing ever-so-slightly sharpened prices on all but the entry-level ES manual.

The light hatch has tucked away 6908 sales year-to-date, placing it behind the Swift (7452), the Hyundai i20 (8361), Toyota's new Yaris (9800) and the segment-leading Mazda2 (11,012 sales).

New pricing this week sees small savings offered on most models, with the most significant cuts going to the CVT auto-equipped variants.

Manual-equipped Sport and LS models have been reduced by $200 and $500 respectively, while the manual ES holds steady at $12,990.

Go for an auto and you'll save $750 on the ES, $950 on the Sport and a not insignificant $1250 on the top-shelf LS.

The Mirage is otherwise unchanged, with all equipment and mechanical features still as they were at launch in January.

Along with the revised pricing, Mitsubishi is reminding buyers that the Mirage topped this year's Australian Automobile Clubs (RACQ, RACV, RAA, RAC and RACT) survey of running costs, alongside Suzuki's Alto.
