The Mercedes-Benz CLA range in Australia is set for a reshuffle, with the German carmaker announcing the Sport 250 4MATIC will join the line-up from July.
Two variants are currently available following the CLA’s local launch last year; the entry-level CLA 200 and the top-shelf CLA 45 AMG.
Mercedes-Benz announced last year that the CLA 200 CDI diesel-powered variant was set to arrive in Q1 of this year, followed by the CLA 250 Sport in Q2.
Now we can add the CLA 250 Sport 4MATIC to the list in place of the CLA 250 Sport, with ‘Benz’s local arm anticipating a July arrival for the all-wheel-drive variant.
The CLA 250 Sport was set to wear a price tag of $63,400 plus on-roads, which will rise to $64,900 plus on-roads for the all-wheel-drive version.
Power for the CLA 250 Sport 4MATIC comes from a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 155kW and 350Nm.
The Sport 4MATIC is good for 0-100km/h sprint in a claimed 6.6 seconds, marking a 0.1 second improvement over the CLA 250 Sport we were due to receive.
Among its features are heated electric leather sports-seats with memory function along with ‘AMG-style’ performance enhancements and styling.
“We are excited to announce that the highly anticipated CLA 250 Sport will now arrive as a 4MATIC (all-wheel-drive) variant, and is available to order immediately,” Mercedes-Benz General Sales Manager, Richard Emery, said.
Pricing for the rest of the CLA range is unchanged, with the CLA 200 kicking off the range at $49,990 plus on-roads.
