Kia has pulled the covers from its new Cerato Hatch this week, revealing the second of the model's three new bodystyles.
The Chicago debut of the new Hatch follows the unveiling in November of the next-generation Cerato sedan. The range will be rounded out by a new coupe style next month.
The hatch's design draws on the look of the sedan, both models representing the latest evolution of design boss Peter Schreyer's new styling language.
The models are not mirror images however, with a new flagship turbo hatch model bringing its own unique grille and bumper design. All hatch models also feature larger LED-rich tail-lights.
The 2014 Cerato Hatch range is headlined by a new turbocharged model, to be known in the US as the Forte SX.
Power for this new flagship comes courtesy of the same 1.6 litre turbo engine that drives the new Cee'd GT models and Hyundai's Veloster SR Turbo, offering 150kW and 264Nm of torque - the latter available between 1750-4500rpm.
Performance figures have not been released, but the SX's 0-100km/h time will likely come in at around the same 7.9 second mark that the European-market Pro_Cee'd GT lists.
At the other end of the Cerato Hatch range is a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 129kW and 209Nm of torque.
