2014 HONDA ODYSSEY AUSTRALIA
Honda has cut the cost of entry into its Odyssey range by $2000, with a new drive-away price of $37,990 for the entry model, and $45,990 for the Luxury.
The cut comes as the first since the Odyssey's most recent Australian update, rolled out in December 2011. That update brought reduced MLP pricing and additional equipment.
The 2014 Odyssey's equipment list remains unchanged, but there's a good range of safety features and creature comforts on-board.
In base form, the Odyssey gets multi-function touch screen satellite navigation with live traffic updates, DVD player, reversing camera, 60:40 split fold-down second row seats, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming plus retractable third-row seats for extra luggage space.
Upgrade to the Luxury model and there's 17-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, 'aero' bumpers and side skirts.
Mechanically, the Odyssey range remains unchanged, with power provided by a 2.4 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 132kW and 218Nm of torque.
Paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, fuel consumption is listed at 8.9 l/100km.
