Honda has confirmed its new 2014 Odyssey people-mover will hit Australia in February, replacing the current fourth-generation model.

Revealed in October, the new model will come to Australia with Honda's 2.4 litre petrol engine, producing 135kW and 240Nm of torque.

The new Odyssey introduces a more van-like design, with a higher roofline than before and with sliding doors to the rear seats.

Australian buyers will have the option of either a seven-seat or, for the first time, an eight-seat layout.

Full local details are still to be revealed, but the international model can be had with blindspot monitoring, daytime running lights and a wide-angle reversing camera.

Watch for more details to come closer to launch.
