Holden's 2014 VF Commodore is moving closer to its showroom debut, with a media event set to occur later this month (watch for TMR's launch review).

And, now that the regular Commodore sedan and its sports-focused SS stablemate have been revealed, Holden is happy to peal the camouflage from its testers and staff cars.

TMR's eagle-eyed readers are spotting the new models all around town, and this latest set of shots from reader Troy offers another 'in the street' look at the VF.

UPDATE - MAY 2013: Pricing and photos for the new VF Commodore have been released. Click here.

The VF brings a number of significant changes to the platform of its VE predecessor, including a major styling overhaul, lightweight new materials, a vastly improved interior and a range of new technologies for the brand.

On the outside, there's a new face and rear, along with a new aluminium bonnet and bootlid. Holden says that only the the doors, roof and glasshouse of the VE carry over into the VF's design.

The changes are more dramatic inside, with the rear of the centre console the only item that carries over unchanged.

TMR sat in the new Calais V earlier this year, where we experienced a significantly more luxurious feel than in the previous model, with improved cushioning and materials, more leather and unique suede-like trim features.

New technologies in the VF range will include Auto Park Assist across the range, while up-spec models will get keyless entry and start, a head-up display, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

The latest version of GM’s MyLink infotainment system will be offered too, which, among the usual audio/nav functions, is able to play music via Pandora by using the driver’s mobile phone data connection.

Engine details for the new range are still to be confirmed, although it is expected that much of the range will see improved versions of the existing 3.0 and 3.6 litre V6 engines, and the familiar 6.0 litre V8.
