Holden has continued its price cuts this week with the introduction of the 2014 WN Caprice and Caprice V, with both models shaking $10,000 from their asking prices.

The 2014 Caprice will also do away with its regular petrol model, offering only the 3.6 LPG model - a favourite with hire fleets - and the more powerful 6.0 litre Gen IV V8.

The range will kick off with the $54,990 Caprice 3.6 LPG, while buyers looking for more power and more features can look to the $59,990 V8 Caprice V.

“Holden has added the features and advanced technology that customers would only expect from prestige brands to Australia’s own large luxury car – and we’ve made Caprice available with an RRP under $60,000 for the first time," Holden's Philip Brook said.

Although the 2014 Caprice models feature only minor exterior changes, both benefit from the same massively overhauled cabin gifted to the new VF Commodore range.

The WN does without the weight-saving upgrades of the VF range - meaning no aluminium bonnet or bootlid - but Holden believes buyers will see value in the re-priced 2014 range.

“We think we’ve made a smart investment in our long wheel base models. Caprice has always been an extremely well designed, well-proportioned large car and the all new interior is particularly important to customers in this segment,” he said.

Features standard with the Caprice 3.6 LPG include a sensor key with passive entry and a push-button start, along with an eight-inch colour display with satellite navigation and Holden's MyLink infotainment system with Apple's Siri Eyes Free. The Caprice is fitted with 18-inch wheels.

Standard safety features include Auto Park Assist, a reversing camera with front and rear parking, Blind Spot Alert, electric park brake with auto release, Hill Hold Control, Hill Start Assist and Trailer Sway Control, and remote vehicle start.

In the Caprice V, there's 'Deluxe' leather front and rear bucket seats, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, BOSE audio, electric sunroof, 19-inch alloy wheels and quad exhaust tips.

The Caprice V also gets a new rear-seat entertainment system with remote control, DVD, AUX input and dual-channel wireless headphones.
