2014 Corolla Sedan Teased, Toyota Promises Exciting Debut

UPDATE: Toyota has announced it will unveil the new Corolla sedan at 5:30pm AEST today. Watch TMR for the coverage.

Toyota has released a set of teaser images of its 2014 Corolla sedan, urging fans to get excited for its June 6 unveiling. "Really excited", in fact.

The teasers reveal closely cropped sections of the car's interior and exterior elements, including the front and rear lights and new interior elements.

We can also see a sports grille design and a small boot-lid spoiler that will likely be standard equipment with this 'S' sports model.

Spy photos that surfaced earlier this month revealed a new sedan badged as a Corolla, matching the recent Yundong Shuanquing II concept unveiled in Shanghai.

This latest image teases a different rear however, suggesting the North American market will get its own unique design.

One concept that does have a similar rear-end design to the image shown here is the Furia, revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It is possible then that the new Corolla sedan will share features from both concepts. 

Toyota Australia’s Mike Breen has also said the Yundong Shuangquing II concept would share “some similarities” with the production version of the 2014 Corolla sedan.
