A new pair of 2014 BMW X5 models have surfaced today, on the tail of yesterday's online unveiling.

While the earlier online debut revealed the new X5 in its regular form, these latest press shots showcase the M Sport styling and handling pack, and the top-shelf M50d diesel performer.

The two models wear a similar styling pack, set apart from the regular models by a sports styling kit and, in the case of the M50d, larger 20-inch wheels (optional with the M Sport).

Features with the M Sport pack include Adaptive M suspension and Dynamic Damper Control, along with sports-tuned rear air suspension.

Outputs for the performance-focused diesel in the X5 M50d remains unchanged, with the big 3.0 litre six pumping out 280kW at 4000rpm and 740Nm between 2-3000rpm.

An eight-speed auto is again featured with the M50d, and BMW says the all-wheel-drive SUV will hit 100km/h in 5.3 seconds, on its way to a 250km/h top speed.

Fuel consumption for the M50d is listed at 6.7 l/100km, marking a key improvement over the 7.5 l/100km figure of the current model.

Watch for these models to join the Australian range sometime after the late 2013 debut of the regular X5 models.
