BMW's big new 2014 X5 SUV range has arrived in Australian showrooms, headlined by the diesel-powered M50d M Performance hero. 

The range kicks off with a new four-cylinder diesel-powered rear-wheel-drive variant called the sDrive25d; the first time a four-cylinder diesel or 2WD have been offered in an X5 in Australia.

All-wheel-drive is also available at the entry end, in the form of the xDrive25d for an extra $5000.

The volume-selling xDrive30d has copped an $8000 price increase, with softer $245 and $755 increases on the xDrive50i petrol and M50d diesel.
