The 2014 BMW M3 has been caught on film without camouflage while being filmed for its own promotional video.
Shared by enthusiast site Bimmer Post and sporting a “Yas Marina Blue metallic” paint finish, the short video also lets us hear the new exhaust note for the first time.
That exhaust note comes from a 3.0 litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine, that was confirmed for both the M3 and M4 last month.
Power for the turbo ‘six’ is rated at “approximately” 316kW with “well over” 500Nm of torque; up from the 309kW and 400Nm produced by the outgoing 4.0 litre V8 engine.
Kerb weight has been reduced for the M4 coupe, down 80kg from the old M3 coupe which sees it slip below 1500kg.
Both models will be available with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch auto transmissions.
Other features include a carbon-fibre reinforced plastic roof for the sedan, throttle-blipping rev-matching for the manual and BMW's Active M Differential.
A debut of the M3 sedan and M4 coupe is scheduled to occur in the coming months. Keep watching TMR for more.
