Bentley has pulled the covers from its re-styled Flying Spur saloon today, following a series of leaked images that surfaced yesterday.

Beneath the 2014 Flying Spur is a tweaked version of the architecture that underpins its predecessor, but on the surface the Spur has been given an extensive makeover.

The 'new' Flying Spur builds on the styling of the two-door Continental GT models, with sharp new character lines, a new front-end treatment and an almost retro touch to the rear.

The 2014 Spur has also been given a lower roofline, creating a tough new look for the big prestige sedan that sits one step below the Mulsanne flagship.

Inside, Bentley says the new Spur features 600 new components, with the redesigned cabin offering new trim options, wi-fi internet hot spot connectivity and two 10-inch LCD displays.

The changes go well beyond styling and convenience however, with lighter materials cutting the Spur's kerb weight by around 50kg, and an overhauled suspension package delivering a more refined ride.
