Volkswagen's all-new Golf hatch has been revealed in three-door form, just hours after the online unveiling of its five-door sibling.
The images have been revealed as part of Volkswagen's online 'configurator', which allows buyers to spec-out a new Golf to suit their personal tastes.
As it is with the outgoing sixth-generation variants, the three-door version of the new Golf is largely identical to the regular model, with the shorter profile the only standout difference.
We can expect the three-door model's specifications to mirror the five-door, but with the Scirocco now a dedicated part of the Volkswagen range, it remains to be seen if a three-door Golf GTI will be offered.
If VW kills off the three-door GTI all together, it won't be alone: the hot hatch's main rival - Ford's Focus ST hatch - has already been confirmed as a five-door-only prospect, and the next Civic Type R is also expected to stick with five doors.
