Update: yet more images have surfaced, with just hours until the new SUV's debut.

A set of leaked images have revealed Toyota's new 2013 RAV4 SUV this week, just days out from its LA Auto Show unveiling.

The gallery includes official press images of the SUV's sharpened snout and cabin design, along with a number of pre-production shots direct from the assembly line.

As expected, the new RAV4 borrows heavily from the look of Toyota's new Corolla and Camry models, picking up a hooked headlight design, deep-V grille and hard-edged bumpers.

At the rear, the new model's lights extend into the tailgate, while a low-cut bumper creates the same wide and deep loading access provided by the third-gen SUV.

Inside, the RAV4 gets a more upmarket makeover, revealing a two-tiered dash layout, a large centre console with a widescreen display, and a number of subtle satin highlights.

Engine options are expected to include a pair of four-cylinder engines, one petrol and one diesel, signalling the end of the current V6 model.

Watch for more official images and details to land at this week's LA Auto Show.
