2013 Subaru Forester Revealed Ahead Of Australian Debut

Subaru has followed a series of revealing spy photos this week with the first official images of upcoming 2013 Forester midsized SUV.

Shown here in its regular and up-spec XT trim grades, the new Forester will make its official debut in Japan on November 13.

The carmaker has confirmed the next generation of its popular SUV will hit the Australian market in the first quarter of 2013. 

The Forester has been a strong seller in Australia, sitting at the top end of the medium SUV market for four years until 2011.

So far in 2012 however, the Forester sits behind the segment-leading Nissan X-Trail, Mazda's new CX-5 and Toyota's ageing RAV4.

Subaru will be looking to the new Forester to make up ground in the segment, bringing new styling and features to tackle not only the CX-5, but also upcoming replacements for the X-Trail, RAV4 and Mitsubishi Outlander.

On the styling front, this new fourth-generation Forester evolves the shape of its predecessor, while adopting front- and rear-end styling kicked off by the still-new Impreza small car and midsized Liberty range.
