New images of the upcoming and all-new SRT Viper has surfaced online today, thanks to a handful of blurred video stills that offer the most revealing look yet at the new car.

Obtained by American website Inside Line, the new images are believed to be grabs from the promotional footage that the Chrysler Group's newly independent SRT arm will peddle at this week's New York Auto Show.

As expected, the new Viper brings an evolutionary look to the now iconic Viper design, with the familiar bubble-top roof, large fender-back vents and tall rear lip-spoiler.

The new shots are just the latest in a run of official teasers and leaked images (including some leaked photos of the new Viper in Hot Wheels toy form).

Little else is known about the new car, although official word from Chrysler is that while the hero car will retain its raw driving experience, a suite of new driver aids will make it a genuine contender in the high-performance market.

Will we see the new model in Australia... at long last?

Australian fans of the Viper have until now been overlooked, but with the Chrysler Group now under the control of a sales-hungry Fiat, a wider global launch for the new snake could be on the cards.

Watch for more details on the new SRT-badged Viper to surface in the coming days.
