2013 Skoda Octavia RS Surfaces On Consumer Website

The flagship model in Skoda's new 2013 Octavia range, the turbocharged RS model, has been given an unscheduled unveiling.

The images shown here were caught by an eagle-eyed fan on Skoda's own website, appearing on the configuration page for the new Octavia revealed this week.

Details for the new RS were not revealed, although it is expected that power will be supplied by the 162kW 2.0 litre turbo engine that drives Volkswagen's new 2013 GTI hatch.

In its current form, the Octavia RS is available in petrol and diesel form. The petrol model offers 147kW and 280Nm, while the diesel outputs a lighter 125kW and a heftier 350Nm of torque.

In the regular 2013 Octavia, power will be provided by a range of petrol and diesel options, including an 89kW 1.4 litre petrol, a 131kW 1.8 litre petrol, and an 81kW 1.6 diesel.
