Renault Australia has introduced a new 'Phase 3' makeover for its popular Koleos SUV this week, launching with a $27,990 limited-time drive-away price for the entry model.

Marking the second and likely final makeover for the small SUV, this 'Phase 3' update brings the face of the Koleos more in-line with its newer stablemates, including the coming Captur crossover and the recently launched Clio.

The 2013/14 Koleos hangs onto the updated headlights that debuted in 2011, but there's a new gloss-black grille with chrome highlights and a larger Renault badge.

Exterior styling is otherwise unchanged, with the front-bumper and rear-end design largely identical to the model currently available in Australia.

For the new model year, the Koleos Expression picks up new alloy wheels, chrome side protective strips, new interior trims and the option of brown leather upholstery, a new audio interface and a new seven-inch touchscreen navigation system with multimedia functions, new Blind Spot Warning (BSW) function, and a reversing camera combined with rear parking sensors.

The Bose model grade is again on offer, adding a touchscreen integrated satellite navigation system, illuminated vanity mirrors in the sun visors, front parking sensors, new two-tone 17-inch alloy wheel design, Blind Spot Warning, Keyless Start and electro chrome interior mirror. A rear view camera is available as an option.

The top-shelf Privilege model adds a rear parking camera, new 2-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable passenger seat and optional brown interior and brown leather upholstery, or optional brown interior with beige leather upholstery.

The SUV's 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel has also been warmed up, boosting power 17kW to 127kW. Torque remains at a healthy 320Nm.

A 126kW/226Nm 2.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine is again also available, and the Koleos is otherwise unchanged mechanically.
