Nissan has announced local pricing and details of its all-new 2013 Patrol, just days after confirming a debut at next month's Australian International Motor Show.
Kicking off below $85,000, the new Patrol will sell alongside the existing Y61 model, currently priced from $56,490 in wagon form.
Nissan Australia will look to the two-pronged approach to give buyers the choice between road-focused petrol-powered luxury, and rugged diesel off-roading.
The new 2013 Patrol will be offered in one mechanical specification, along with Nissan's familiar trim grades: entry-level ST-L, mid-range Ti and top-shelf Ti-L.
Mechanical Package
The 2013 Patrol is powered by a new direct-injected 5.6 litre V8 engine, developing 298kW at 5800rpm and 560Nm of torque at 4000rpm.
Nissan says that 90 percent of the big engine's torque is available from a low 2500rpm.
A new seven-speed automatic transmission is paired with the V8, along with an upgraded four-wheel-drive system that includes settings for driving on road, sand, snow and rock.
Four-wheel independent suspension is featured in the new model, rather than the live axles of the Y61 Patrol.
