Nissan has pulled the wraps from its next-generation 2013 Pathfinder and, surprising no-one, the new family-moving SUV is a near facsimile of its earlier concept.
As expected, the new seven-seat Pathfinder has moved away from the boxy design that the current model shares with the Navara pick-up, adopting a curvaceous new shape.
The new shape comes with a catch: owners that enjoy the off-roading capabilities of the current model may be moved to look elsewhere, with the 2012 Pathfinder using the more road-focused platform that underpins the Infiniti JX SUV.
Other technical details have still to be revealed, although it is expected that the new Pathfinder will share the same trusty 195kW/336Nm 3.5 litre V6 engine driving the Murano, matched to Nissan's Xtronic CVT automatic transmission.
Nissan has previously revealed that, like the all-new Patrol due later this year, the new Pathfinder will feature a more premium feel in the cabin (although not quite to Infiniti levels).
