Nissan’s announcement earlier this year that it would enter the 2013 V8 Supercar Championship was followed by a New York Auto Show debut for the company's all-new Altima sedan.

On the heels of confirmation that the new fifth-generation model will form the basis of Nissan Australia's V8SC racer, TMR tasked designer Josh Byrnes to imagine the sedan in trackgoing form.

While Kelly Racing and Nissan Motorsport CEO John Crennan has confirmed that the two Kelly-driven cars will continue with Jack Daniel's sponsorship, we've imagined the Altima V8SC with a new take on Nissan’s classic red, white and blue livery.

As for when we'll see the real deal, the team is rushing to complete their first Altima V8SC chassis in time for the first Car of the Future test session in August.

This development has been underway for several months, with the full weight of Nissan Motorsport behind the project.

So important is the Altima's V8 Supercar debut, and so tight is the team's schedule, that assembly of the roadgoing sedan was recently interrupted so that pre-production external panels could be stamped for the Australian team.
