Mitsubishi has confirmed this week that the updated-for-2013 ASX crossover will make its debut at next week's New York Auto Show.
Caught testing earlier this week by TMR's spy photographers, the revised ASX will pick up lightly restyled bumpers at the front and back, along with new side skirts and a refreshed cabin.
Mitsubishi says the 2013 ASX update will also bring a revised rear suspension package, and upgrades to the SUV's automatic Continuously Variable Transmission.
In 2013, the small SUV will be joined by an all-new Outlander. Mitsubishi has promised a more upmarket feel to the larger SUV's cabin materials, and it is possible that the ASX's interior updates will bring similar improvements.
The engine line-up will most likely remain unchanged, with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder paired with a five-speed manual or an updated CVT.
A hybrid version is expected to join the ASX down the road, but this is unlikely to appear until the upcoming Outlander hybrid is well underway.
We can expect the facelifted ASX in Australia later this year or early next year, along with the Outlander replacement in 2013.
