There was little room left for surprises at the premiere of Hyundai's new 2013 Santa Fe SUV today, with a run of telling 'teaser' images revealing that the carmaker can't be trusted with a secret.
Unveiled at this week's New York Auto Show, the new Santa Fe debuts a new styling language for Hyundai, with its outgoing 'Fluidic Sculpture' evolving into the new 'Storm Edge'.
Up front, the new Santa Fe gets a squared-off face and a new take on Hyundai's familiar hexagonal grille design, sharing its inspiration with the recent Hexa Space concept.
The profile of the new Santa Fe is dominated by a fast-rising belt line, while the rear gets slender new LED tail-lights.
The international debut of the new Santa Fe brings both short- and long-wheelbase versions, continuing the five- and seven-seat choices of its predecessor.
The seven-seat model is longer than that the outgoing car, but rides on the same 2700mm wheelbase - 100mm longer than the regular model. Overall, the seven-seater is 215mm longer, 10mm taller and 5mm wider than the five-seat model.
