Three months after Honda reveals its plans for an all-new NSX supercoupe in Detroit, the Japanese carmaker will reportedly unveil the all-new fifth-generation Legend sedan.

That's according to America's Car & Driver magazine, which claims that Honda's luxury brand Acura will use April's New York Auto Show to showcase the new RL flagship - usually a rebadged version of the Legend.

The report quotes unnamed Acura executives as confirming the April debut, with US-market sales set to begin later in the year. While a global debut has yet to be confirmed, the Legend version should come around the same time, if not sooner.

Honda's new electric version of its Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system is expected to feature, with the front wheels driven by the new 231kW "Earth Dreams" 3.5 litre V6 engine, and the rear wheel driven by a pair of electric motors.

The styling of the new Legend will reportedly draw inspiration from the newer Accord-based Acura TL, adopting a sharper profile with a coupe-like roofline and more prominent wheel arches.

The report adds that Acura insiders have claimed that the new Legend will offer BMW 5 Series-like handling dynamics, with interior space closer to the larger 7 Series.
