Ford has claimed victory for the first half of the 2013 calendar year, declaring that its small Focus model is still the world’s best-selling car.

According to R.L. Polk & Co. global vehicle registration data, the Focus has continued where it left off last year, with the brand deemed the world’s best-selling nameplate of 2012.

The global carmaker is also trumpeting success for its Fiesta range, which has crept into the top-five best-selling nameplates in fourth position, making it the world’s best-selling light car.
