Ford will follow up September's three-door Fiesta ST concept with the unveiling of a five-door version at this month's LA Auto Show, the American carmaker has confirmed.
Apart from the extra pair of doors, the new concept's styling is identical to the Fiesta ST shown at Frankfurt.
There's a new future-previewing headlight design (even for the regular models, we suspect), along with a Fiesta ST-inspired front bumper and a body-coloured diffuser at the rear.
Like the three-door, the Fiesta ST five-door is driven by Ford's 1.6 litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, sending 135kW and 240Nm of torque to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
"The Fiesta ST Concept shows in the most dramatic way possible that the qualities that define an ST are not limited to one model," Ford's boss of performance vehicles, Jost Capito said.
"The potential for delivering the ST experience to an even wider audience is laid bare by this exciting new concept."
Production for the Fiesta ST has not been confirmed, but like the larger Focus ST, it should only be a matter of time.
