Citroen's little C3 hatch has picked up a facelift, a little over three years since its unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

For now, the update has been confirmed only for the Brazilian market, although it is likely that these minor styling tweaks will work their way across the car's global range.

Most of the styling changes are focused on the front end, picking up a new grille design that brings the C3 in-line with the newer C4 small car.

There's also new LED daytime running lights integrated into the front bumper, positioned above new foglight housings.

In the cabin, there's an updated instrument cluser, along with a redesigned dash with new chrome-ringed circular air vents and an overlapping centre stack.

Watch for details on a wider release for the updated C3 in the coming months.

The Citroen brand will be joining its PSA partner Peugeot under one independent Australian distributor from 2013 (likely to be Peugeot distributor Sime Darby). Moving away from former distributor Ateco may give the brand the opportunity it's been missing here.

Its product catalogue is better than its current under-performing Australian sales would suggest.
