BMW has added a number of new features to the standard equipment lists of its 2013 X3 SUV range, available from April.
Depending on model, BMW says it has added up to $8000 in value to the range, with no change to existing prices.
For 2013, the entry-level xDrive20i petrol and xDrive20d diesel models gain powered seats with memory, Business satellite navigation package, an auto tailgate and larger 18-inch alloy wheels.
The range-topping xDrive28i and xDrive30d models pick up Professional navigation, advanced Bluetooth and voice control functions, anti-dazzle and powered folding external mirrors, Bi-Xenon headlights, Top View display, lumbar support and 18-inch Y-spoke wheels.
The xDrive28i also gains the automatic tailgate, which already standard on the xDrive30d. Both models also gain the X-Line package as standard equipment.
“The specification now standard in a BMW X3 means customers considering a premium mid-sized SAV can get outstanding value on the car that is considered best-in-class in Australia right now,” BMW Australia boss Phil Horton said.
BMW will be looking to the update 2013 range to boost the appeal of the X3 against Audi's Q5, with the Audi SUV leading the 'Bimmer' in January sales, 276 to 209.
