Audi's Q5 midsized SUV will soon join its updated siblings, picking up revised headlights and the recently tweaked grille design in its upcoming 2013 facelift.

It is clear from these latest images that while the 2013 Q5's headlights will retain their current shape, the lozenge-like LED daytime running lights have been swapped out for the brand's new LED ribbon.

The carmaker's new supercharged 220kW 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine is also likely to get a guernsey, if the 3.0T badge on the tailgate of recent test cars is anything to go by.

For now, the top-shelf engine in the Q5 range is Audi's 3.2 litre V6, delivering 199kW and 330Nm of torque, with fuel consumption listed at 9.3 l/100km on the combined cycle.

We can also expect the current range of smaller petrol and diesel engines to carry over, bringing the usual power bumps and fuel consumption improvements.

Watch for the updated Q5 to make its international debut in the coming months, with an Australian launch likely to occur early in 2013.
