Audi has rounded out its Australian A4 line-up with the addition this week of the A4 Allroad, a smaller companion to the jacked-up A6 Allroad.
Arriving alongside the the larger A6 variant, the A4 Allroad joins the existing A4 sedan and Avant wagon models, giving buyers a new high-riding option in the range.
Priced at $69,900 (plus on-roads), the A4 Allroad is driven exclusively by the same 2.0 litre turbodiesel and seven-speed automatic transmission found in the regular A4.
The A4 Allroad's local debut comes nearly four years after its European launch, but with only a manual transmission available, Audi's local arm had opted to hold off until an auto option became available.
Audi will initially offer only 150 A4 Allroad cars in Australia - likely to see how the new variant will fare alongside the dedicated Q5 SUV.
Mechanical Package
Powering the A4 Allroad is a 130kW and 380Nm 2.0 litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
