2013 Aston Martin DB9 Breaks Cover

Aston Martin's new Vanquish flagship will be joined by a lightly updated DB9 in 2013, bringing a handful of styling tweaks and more power to the table. 

For the new model year, the DB9 - with us now since 2004 - has helped itself to a few tricks from the cancelled Virage's playbook.

Up front, the 2013 DB9's slender new headlights bring the supercoupe in line with Aston's newer models, while a new bumper and bonnet design round out the face's styling tweaks.

The profile of the DB9 gains new wing mirrors, a re-styled skirt design and a tweaked gill garnish in the front quarter panel, while the rear gets a new bumper and subtly re-worked boot lid. 

Inside, the iconic DB car gets improved materials and optional lightweight sports seats 17kg lighter than the regular pews. A reversing camera is also available, along with a carbon fibre-rich trim package with a leather headliner. 

The big 5.9 litre V12 engine has also been given a going-over, sitting lower than before and offering more power than the outgoing model.

For 2013, the DB9's power is boosted from 350 to 380kW, while torque climbs from 600 to 620Nm. Aston promises a 0-100km/h time 0.2 seconds sharper than before - now down to 4.6 seconds - but top speed is down 5km/h to 295km/h.
