Volkswagen has revealed the updated 2012 Passat CC this week, making it the last model to gain the carmaker's new family styling.
Largely a facelift and technical upgrade, the CC features Volkswagen's sharpened headlight and slatted chrome grille design, along with new tail-lights and new bumper designs.
Inside, the CC gets an updated to the dash that found its way - largely unchanged - into the ' 2011 Passat sedan. For this release, a tweaked air-conditioning control panel and unique trim options gives the coupe-like CC its own bit of flair.
For the European model, Bi-Xenon headlights are now standard, along with cornering lights, LED taillights, fatigue detection and the RCD-310 audio system.
New safety and assistance features include Side Assist Plus with Lane Assist (warns of vehicles in blind spot, assists in avoiding accidents), Dynamic Light Assist (automatic high beam control) and a camera-based traffic sign detection system.
Engine options for Europe remain unchanged, with three petrol TSI engines (118kW 1.8, 155kW 2.0, 220kW 3.6 V6) and two 2.0 litre diesel TDI engines (103kW, 125kW).
More details on the updated Passat CC will be revealed at this month's Los Angeles Auto Show, and an international sales debut is expected to occur in early 2012.
Speaking with TMR today, Volkswagen Australia's Karl Gehling confirmed the updated Passat CC will hit local showrooms in 2012.
