Volkswagen's Australian-delivered Golf range has come in for a mild update, with all variants up from the Trendline grade gaining Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming as standard.

For the Comfortline variants and above, Volkswagen's Media Device Interface is now also fitted as standard, offering USB connectivity and Bluetooth audio streaming.

“We are pleased to be able to offer this added extra as standard to our already competitively priced Golf range," Volkswagen Australia Managing Director Anke Koeckler said.

"Not only is the Golf one of Australia’s safest and most award-winning vehicles, it is now even better value to own."

Breaking it down by model, the Bluetooth connectivity is now standard with the Hatch and Wagon 90TSI Trendline variants, along with the the 77TSI Trendline.

Bluetooth and the MDI system are now standard with the Hatch and Wagon Comfortline grades of the 118TSI and 103TDI, along with the GTD, GTI and R performers.

Prices remain unchanged for the 2012 model year.
