The shape of Toyota's mid-size sedan future may have been revealed this week, with the appearance online of a number of images purported to be from the Japanese-market 2012 Camry brochure.

Published in Japanese magazine Holiday Auto and scooped by Brazilian website Noticias Automotivas, the new images follow a short teaser video released earlier this month.

The accuracy of the images remains unclear however, with the headlight shape and position appearing noticeably different to the design teased in the earlier video.

The report describes the vehicle shown as the new Hybrid Camry and, like the Aurion, it is possible the hybrid variant will feature a different face to the regular model.

If genuine, the images could also preview a new generation for the V6-powered Aurion, with a wider global market in its sights.

Toyota has yet to announce a specific launch date for the new Camry, but a Ward's Auto report in the US earlier this year offered the first hint, with Toyota US boss Bob Carter confirming a North American debut in the coming months.

There is no word yet on an Australian launch or production schedule for the new Camry, however the new Hybrid Camry is expected to enter production in Australia later this year.
