Subaru Australia has announced the arrival of the all-new Impreza hatchback and sedan, bringing a new engine, new transmissions, new technology and more efficiency to the company's small car entrant.
The old Impreza R, RX and RS badges are gone, instead replaced by the 2.0i, 2.0i-L and 2.0i-S nomenclature used by the recently-launched Subaru XV range.
There are no price rises for the base model, with the entry-grade Impreza 2.0i sedan and hatch priced at $23,990 before on-roads.
Increased levels of standard equipment make the mid-grade Impreza 2.0i-L and high-grade 2.0i-S more expensive than their predecessors though, with pricetags of $26,990 and $31,990 respectively.
Much of the pricetag increase on the 2.0i-S is due to the removal of a manual transmission option, making the more expensive automatic gearbox the only option.
New standard features include auto engine start-stop, Bluetooth and an interactive multi-function display for all models.
