2012 SsangYong Actyon Sports In Australia From March

SsangYong's 'new' Actyon Sports pickup will hit the Australian market in March, the brand's local arm has confirmed with TMR today, after making its Korean market launch this week as the new Korando Sports. 

The new utility made its first international appearance in production form at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show, debuting with a Euro 5-compliant diesel engine.

Producing 114kW and 360Nm of torque (the latter between 1500 and 2800rpm), the 2.0 litre e-XDi200 diesel lists fuel consumption figures of 6.4 l/100km.

While Australian specifications have yet to be revealed, SsangYong lists a choice of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

The new Actyon Sports' suspension is managed by double wishbones at the front, and a five-link arrangement at the rear. Four- and two-wheel-drive configurations will be offered.

SsangYong says the new pickup is similar in size to the existing Actyon Sports, measuring 4990mm long, 1910mm wide and 1790mm tall, riding on a 3060mm wheelbase.

Kerb weight is listed at between 1873 and 1995kg, with a gross vehicle weight between 2640 and 2740kg.

Depending on the spec, the Korean-market "Korando Sports" is equipped with power-adjusted and heated front seats, leather upholstery and leather steering wheel, automatic air conditioning and cruise control.

There is also power-folding rear-view mirrors, an electrochromatic internal mirror, power windows, steering-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth and a trip computer.

In the looks department, SsangYong's new pickup lists 16 to 18-inch wheel options, daytime running lights and a sunroof.

Safety features include dual airbags, electronic stability control, disc brakes all-round and an ultra-rigid frame construction.
