The all-new 2012 911, known internally as the 991, is drawing closer to its debut at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

A recent teaser video showed Porsche engineers testing the new model in South Africa - also offering the first look at its seven-speed manual shifter - and now a new video hints at the car's virtual debut in the gaming world.

The new video teases the next instalment in the popular Need For Speed franchise, dubbed The Run, which draws its inspiration from the infamous Gumball 3000.

If you're watching the preview, don't expect to see the 911 in its full glory. With its official unveiling still some weeks away, Porsche won't be letting a mere video game give the game away. What you'll see here is a flash of headlight and a glimpse of its backside.

The Run will also star the new Lamborghini Aventador, BMW's ballistic-baby 1 Series M Coupe, and GM's Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 - among many others.
