Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing on a number of new models set to launch over the coming months.

The new models include the barn-storming C 63 AMG Coupe and its 'regular' C-Class Coupe sibling, the lifestyle-focused SLK Roadster and the ultra-efficient diesel-equipped E-Class.

2012 C-Class Coupe On Sale From August

2012 C-CLASS COUPE

Joining the updated C-Class Sedan and Estate (launched in May) Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing and powertrain details for the all-new C-Class Coupe ahead of its August sales debut.

The new C-Class Coupe will be offered with offered with one diesel engine and four petrol engines, including the top-shelf V8-powered C 63 AMG variant (see below).

Kicking off the C-Class Coupe range is the C 180 BlueEfficiency, powered by a 1.8 litre petrol engine producing 115kW and 250Nm of torque (at 1600rpm).

The 0-100km/h sprint is covered in 8.9 seconds, and fuel consumption is listed at 7.3 l/100km.

The C 250 BlueEfficiency is powered by a more powerful version of the 1.8 litre engine, tuned to deliver 150kW and 310Nm of torque (at 2300rpm). 

Choosing the more powerful 1.8 litre engine will cut the 0-100km/h tim to 7.2 seconds. Curiously, fuel consumption is even lower than the entry C 180, at 7.0 l/100km.

Outside of the AMG range, the range-topper in the petrol C-Class Coupe range is the C 350 BlueEfficiency. Power is provided by a 3.5 litre V6 producing 225kW and 370Nm (at 3500rpm). Fuel consumption is listed at 8.3 l/100km.

The powerful V6 offers a 0-100km/h time of 6.0 seconds flat.

Representing the diesel end is the C 250 CDI, powered by a torquey 2.1 litre turbodiesel engine producing 150kW and 500Nm (at 1600rpm). 

The diesel sprints to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds - making it the second-quickest model in the non-AMG range - and fuel consumption is listed at 5.1 l/100km.

All four variants are mated to Mercedes' updated 7GTronic Plus seven-speed automatic transmission as standard.

2012 C 63 AMG Coupe On Sale From September

The latest addition to Mercedes' flagship AMG range is the all-new C 63 AMG Coupe, powered by the tuning house's trusty 6.2 litre V8 engine.

Producing 336kW and 600Nm of torque (at 5000rpm), the big V8 is paired to the AMG SpeedShift MCT seven-speed transmission and offers a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 4.4 seconds. Top speed is listed at an electronically-limited 250km/h.

The quick Coupe's seven-speed transmission offers a new Race Start launch control system, along with the same S+ and M driving modes featured in the company's hero SLS AMG supercar.

AMG's Performance Package is also offered with the new Coupe, boosting power by 22kW and adding a high-performance composite braking package, a carbon-fibre boot lid spoiler and an AMG high-performance steering wheel.

The AMG version of the Mercedes' C-Class Coupe also gets a revised chassis that brings a three-link front suspension arrangement, along with a reinforced multi-link independent rear suspension set-up, a wider track and a a dose of negative camber.

In standard form, the new AMG Coupe gets 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/40 rubber up front and 255/35 at the rear. Behind the wheels sit high-performance brakes with composite front discs.

The 2012 C 63 AMG Coupe will make its European debut this month. Australian launch scheduling will see the C 63 AMG Coupe  arrive in September.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster On Sale From August

2012 SLK ROADSTER

The stylish all-new 2012 SLK will make its Australian debut next month with three petrol variants: the SLK 200 BlueEfficiency, the SLK 250 BlueEfficiency and the powerful SLK 350 BlueEfficiency.

Opening the range, the SLK 200 BlueEfficiency will be powered by a 1.8 litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 135kW.

Fuel consumption for the entry SLK is listed at 6.1 l/100km on the combined cycle, while the 0-100km/h sprint is covered in a respectable 7.0 seconds.

In the middle of the range is the SLK 250 BlueEfficiency, utilising the same 1.8 litre but producing a healthy 152kW.

On the top shelf is the SLK 350 BlueEfficiency, driven by Mercedes' new 3.5 litre petrol V6. Power is listed at 225kW, shifting the SLK to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds and listing fuel consumption figures of 8.3 l/100km.

All three models will be offered with Mercedes' updated 7GTronic Plus automatic transmission as standard.

Suspension in standard trim is managed by a conventional steel suspension package, although a sports package with harder springs and dampers will be available as an option.

Beyond the sports package, the SLK will also be available with a Dynamic Handling package, offering suspension with continuous adjustable and electronically controlled fully automatic damping.

Previewed late last year, Mercedes-Benz has also fitted its brand-new Magic Sky Control panoramic glass roof to the new SLK, along with its Airguide draught-stop and Airscarf neck-heating systems.

2012 E-Class Gets Updated Transmissions, Efficiency Boost

2012 E-CLASS UPDATE

Following an announcement earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Australia has announced a number of efficiency- and comfort-driven updates for the E-Class line-up.

Combined with Mercedes' updated 7G Tronic Plus automatic transmission and the ECO start/stop system, combined fuel consumption and CO2 emissions for the E 220 CDI and E 250 CDI have fallen by 16 percent to 5.2 and 5.1 l/100km respectively.

Similarly, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions for the 7G Tronic-equipped, petrol-powered E 250 BlueEfficiency have fallen by five percent compared to the previous five-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes has also announced a number of interior revisions to the E-Class range. 

Inside, the updated E-Class offered a full-colour TFT display in the instrument  cluster, along with the steering column-mounted Direct-Select selector lever for the 7G Tronic Plus transmission in the four-cylinder models. 

Another standard feature in the ELEGANCE line is the luxury front head restraint, whose side bolsters can be adjusted as required.
