Mazda's upcoming 2012 BT-50 pickup has been spied in the streets of Melbourne this week ahead of its sales debut later this month.
There's nothing here that Mazda hasn't already revealed, of course, thanks to the big pickup making its Australian International Motor Show debut earlier this year.
With the new BT-50's launch due in the coming weeks, the Dual Cab 4x4 model shown here is likely one of many media cars being 'run in' before it's handed over to the press.
Developed in Australia alongside the all-new Ford Ranger (on sale this month), the 2012 BT-50 gets its own unique front and rear end design, more in-line with the familiar Mazda styling.
The new BT-50 shares much of its mechanical features with the Ranger, including 3.2 litre and 2.2 litre diesel engines, 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, and - like the current BT-50 - a full range of bodystyles.
With its styling and mechanical details already out in the open, the only remaining question for the new BT-50 is price. We'll know more about that in the very near future.
