2012 Kia Cee’d Reveals Sporty New Lines

New images of Kia's next-generation Cee'd hatch have surfaced online this week, ahead of its official debut at March's Geneva Motor Show.

These latest shots reveal a sleek profile highlighted by a heavily raked A-pillar, an upswept belt-line and a sharp character-line along the bottom of the doors.

Developed exclusively for the European market, the Cee'd small car is currently kept out of Australia by the Cerato Hatch, which occupies the same position in the brand's Australian line-up.

In Europe, as it would in Australia, the Cee'd competes directly with the Mazda3 and the Toyota Corolla, along with a cast of thousands of small cars not offered here.

While Kia has yet to offer any word on the next-generation Cerato range, it is possible that the brand will unify the Cee'd and Cerato models as it continues to challenge the Kia badge's fast-disappearing image of cheap and cheerful econoboxes.

Watch for more details on the new Cee'd to surface in the lead-up to the Geneva show.
