Honda Australia has announced a January arrival for its 2012 Goldwing, the imposing luxury-touring bike with a standard features list that puts some cars to shame.

Sporting enhanced styling and improved performance, the MY12 is ready for a new generation of two-up riders, with techno features like the latest on-board audio and navigation systems.

The freshly-minted restyle brings a sporty edge and a more integrated appearance to the big bike. A revised fairing design provides extra wind protection, especially to the lower body and leg areas.

Re-tuning of the Goldwing’s suspension has further improved the ‘plush’ ride that is a Goldwing trademark, without compromising stability.

A lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminium frame and single-sided Pro-Arm swingarm delivers stability and neutral, responsive handling.

A big bike needs a big engine; Honda’s 1,832cc flat-six is a very unique beast and now also EURO-3 compliant, thanks to its HECS3 oxygen-sensing catalytic converter.

The 2012 Goldwing’s premium audio system offers direct MP3/i-Pod connectivity, accessible via handlebar controls.

A new, fully-integrated system with brighter screen includes a next-generation receiver for greater reception sensitivity for more reliable navigation.

Passive safety systems on a road bike are hard to fathom, but the Goldwing offers an airbag system that is a production first for a road bike. It then backs it up with a full set of active systems, including Honda's Combined Braking System (CBS) and an Antilock Braking System (ABS.

Due for release in Australia in late January 2012, the 2012 Honda Goldwing will retail for a competitive $35,290 (MLRP).

Available in three new colours Blue Metallic, Graphite Black and Candy Red, you should see your Honda Dealer for more information.
