BMW has confirmed that it will display a BMW Performance-enhanced version of its new 1 Series hatch in Frankfurt next week.
The BMW Performance Studie 1 Series concept, developed with the company's M division, will get a number of styling and aerodynamic tweaks, along with suspension and handling upgrades.
On the outside, the concept gets 19-inch light alloy wheels, along with new bumpers and side skirts, carbon-fibre side mirrors, a roof spoiler and , of course, racing stripes.
On the inside, the Performance Accessories package includes leather trim and yellow highlights, aluminium sport pedals, a three-spoke sports steering wheel and carbon-fibre details.
Which of these features will be offered with the new 1 Series has not been confirmed, although it is likely that we are looking at a full production kit here.
The concept follows the online reveal in June of the 2012 1 Series M Sport, which adds its own unique body kit and the requisite range of handling and braking updates.
Watch for more details to come with the concept's unveiling at Frankfurt.
