Audi's new five-door A1 Sportback has arrived in Australia, delivering a practical new option for buyers looking at the light-car end of the local prestige segment.
Priced in-line with the three-door range, the arrival of the A1 Sportback also brings new three- and five-door entry models powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine.
The new 63kW opener cuts the price of entry to $26,500 (plus on-roads), compared to $29,990 for the existing 1.4 litre engine, previously the base option.
Mechanical Package
The new turbocharged 1.2 litre petrol engine produces 63kW and 160Nm of torque.
Paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission, the engine promises fuel consumption figures of 5.1 l/100km, with a 0-100km/h time of 11.9 seconds in A1 Sportback form.
The larger 1.4 litre petrol engine continues in 2012/2013, producing 90kW and 200Nm of torque.
