Volkswagen's updated CC four-door coupe is now on sale in Australia, picking up the company's new styling language - and dropping 'Passat' from its moniker.
Pricing remains unchanged, with the two-model line-up kicking off with the 125TDI diesel at $54,990 and topping out with the V6 FSI petrol at $64,990 (both exclude on-road costs).
Largely a facelift and technical upgrade, the 2012 CC features a luxury interpretation of Volkswagen's current corporate 'face', along with new tail-lights, new sheetmetal and new bumper designs.
Inside, the CC gets an updated dash, including a tweaked air-conditioning control panel and unique trim options.
Engine options remain unchanged, with the CC driven by the same petrol and diesel engines featued in the outgoing Passat CC range.
Mated to a six-speed DSG automatic transmission, fuel consumption is listed at 5.7 l/100km. The 0-100km/h time is listed at a claimed 8.6 seconds.
In the top-shelf model, power comes from the hearty 3.6 litre V6 FSI engine - once powering the popular Passat R36 - delivering 220kW and 350Nm.
Matched to the six-speed DSG and Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive, the V6 FSI lists fuel consumption at 9.7 l/100km. The 0-100km/h sprint comes undone in a swift 5.6 seconds.
Standard features for 2012 include Volkswagen's Driver Fatigue Detection system, along with the RNS510 sat-nav package, a rear-view camera, stainless steel door sill plates and front comfort head restraints with front-rear adjustment.
New assistance systems include the optional Driver Assistance Package, which features Side Assist and Lane Assist, along with Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Brake function.
The optional Active Climate Control now also features an integrated massage function, available only with the Black Nappa leather trim.
The new CC is available now, priced from $54,990 for the 125TDI, and $64,990 for the V6 FSI (both exclude on-road costs).
Metallic and pearlescent paints attract a $700 charge, while the driver assistance package costs $3300.
Other options include:
- Walnut ornamental wood inserts - $500
- Heated and ventilated front seats with massage function - $750
- Park assist 2 - $900
- 19-inch Lugano alloys - $1900
- Dynaudio 600W premium audio - $2000
- Panoramic glass roof - $2000
