2011.5 BMW 1 Series Coupe And Convertible Hit Australia

If you're hanging out for the all-new 2012 BMW 1 Series, it will hit Australia in October and you can just about ignore this news. But If you just can't wait to slide into a showroom-new 1'er, this is the update for you.

For the '2011.5' model year, the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible models benefit from a number of quiet styling and aero tweaks, while the top-shelf 135i gets an updated rear differential, optimised for improved performance and fuel consumption.

At the front end, the hardtop Coupe and topless Convertible get updated lights, including a new LED strip up front and a similar update to the tail-lights.

The front bumper also comes in for a modest update, gaining reshaped air intakes to channel air through the front wheel arches and across the face of the wheels, reducing wind resistance.

BMW's M Aerodynamic package can be added to any spec in either bodystyle, coming standard with the 135i Convertible and forming part of the standard-fit M Sport Package on the 135i M Sport Coupe.

Three new wheel designs are available, including the new 17-inch Streamline alloy wheel, fitted as standard with the 123d and 125i Coupe and Convertible variants.

Rounding out the updates are two new metallic paint finishes - Marrakesh Brown and Vermillion Red - and two new interior upholstery colours - Oyser and Savannah. There is also a new interior trim, dubbed Alpine White.

Powertrain choices for the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible remain unchanged, with engine options beginning with the 105kW 118d and topping out with the 225kW 135i.
