2011 FW1 Aussie Racing Cars Super Series Hitting Winton
The FW1 Aussie Racing Cars Super Series will hit Victoria's Winton Raceway this weekend, from May 20 to 22.
The race to the top will continue with glamour model and driver Hayley Swanson competing on her home track, alongside top performers Peter Carr, Kyle Clews and newcomer David Cera.
“Kart racing champion David Cera is an exciting addition to the team and he will be driving in the new Monster Energy branded car. The Series is building a lot of momentum and to secure high calibre sponsors over the last year such as FW1 waterless car cleaning range as Naming Rights sponsor, and now Monster is fantastic," Aussie Racing Cars Founder and Director Phil Ward said.
“This round will be fascinating to watch. The competition is fierce, as Winton is also the test track of several drivers in the Series - including Tyler Owen and Hayley Swanson – so people will be watching closely to see how they use it to their advantage.”
Winton Raceway is known as Australia’s ‘action racetrack’, thanks to its fast straights and tight, sharp corners keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
All eyes will no doubt be on Swanson, who made her debut as a driver and series ambassador at the Clipsal 500.
She is tracking well this season. Racing is a major departure from Swanson's modeling background, where she's won awards for Miss Super GP, RALPH Swimwear Model of the Year and Best Model Australia - successes she'll be looking to emulate on the track.
The event is a big day out for the whole family, with the opportunity to get autographs from professional Aussie Racing Car drivers and the chance to sit in an Aussie Racing Car.
FW1 will also be handing out merchandise and providing product demonstrations on the vehicles.
The series will be televised on Channel 7 and Aussie Racing Cars and FW1 will have live updates on Twitter and Facebook.
