Bentley's updated-for-2011 Continental GT supercoupe will make its Australasian show debut at next month's Australian International Motor Show, the British carmaker has confirmed this week.

The updated Continental GT made its international debut at last September's Paris Auto Show, where the company revealed a new streamlined front-end with Mulsanne-inspired headlights.

The 2011 Continental GT also gets a revised interior and, for the first time, an 'entry-level' 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine, which joins the now more powerful range-topping 423kW/700Nm W12 engine.

Thanks to its new power figures, the 2011 Continental GT shuffles to 100km/h in a heady 4.4 seconds, shaving 0.4 seconds of its predecessor's time.

There is also an updated six-speed automatic transmission, with power distribution across the all-wheel-drive system now set to a 40/60 (front/rear) ratio rather than the 50/50 arrangement of the outgoing model.

The Australian International Motor Show opens at 6pm on Friday 1 July and runs through until Sunday 10 July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Other new models and concepts confirmed for the 2011 AIMS include the 2012 Subaru Impreza, Toyota Prius V and Prius C, the Suzuki Swift S-Concept, the Peugeot 508, the Range Rover Evoque, the Toyota FT-86 II Concept, the 2012 Audi A6 and the 2012 Jaguar XF.

Appearances have also been confirmed for the all-new Lamborghini Aventador, the Lexus LF-Gh concept, the Mazda Shinari concept, and a preview of Australian carmaker JOSS Developments' upcoming JT1 supercar.
