In an effort not to be outdone by Nissan’s supreme effort with the GT-R, Honda have indicated their intentions to bring a new V10 powered NSX supercar to market, by 2010.
“We are developing it without any delay, so most probably we will have it in the period we already promised,” says American Honda President and CEO Tetsuo Iwamura says, adding that means the car will arrive in 2010.
It had previously been promised earlier and many expected the new NSX to debut alongside the GT-R at the 2007 Tokyo Show but it was not to be.
Although we now know that it will be built and that 2010 is the year it will be launched there is still little known about the next gen NSX.
Information gleaned from industry sources and from watching the test mule (in the form of a widened Frankenstein style S2000) lap the Nurburgring, it is known that the NSX will be V10 powered and have in excess of 373kW/500hp.
Given the performance benchmark being set by the GT-R expect those figures to be a little on the low side.
