The range-topper for Skoda’s updated Octavia range has debuted in the Czech-Republic ahead of a global unveiling at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
Called the RS245 in Europe (as in 245 horsepower), it will be badged as RS180 (as in 180kW) in Australia.
As well as the extra punch from the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine (180kW/370Nm to 162kW/350Nm for the outgoing RS162 model), the newcomer scores the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, a electronically-operated limited-slip differential and optional dynamic chassis control.
Infotainment gets a boost with the availability of a 9.2-inch screen and an optional mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for constant ‘on-lineability’.
