The world may be in the grip of a Global Financial Crisis, but that isn't going to stop one of the world's largest Ferrari (and Maserati) dealerships from opening its doors in Melbourne this week.
Called 'Zagame Ferrari', the new dealership is being heralded as a "Multi-million dollar investment in a retail outlet for the world?s most exclusive performance car brands", that will make a "significant commitment to the stability and growth of the economy of Melbourne and Victoria".
The new showroom will be officially opened on Wednesday the 22nd of October, and to celebrate, the star of the recent Sydney Motor Show will be putting in an appearance - the Ferrari California.
?Zagame Ferrari is a flagship Ferrari dealership in every sense of the term and it is only right that the latest model from Ferrari should be present at the official opening,? says Kevin Wall, General Manager for Ferrari at EAI, the Australian and New Zealand Ferrari importer.
?Not only is the dealership the largest Ferrari dealership in the southern hemisphere, it sets a new standard for customer service, technical facilities and it offers a unique Ferrari experience for all visitors.?
In spite of the dark clouds that have recently descended on world financial markets, and the resulting shock waves being felt throughout industry, Ferrari reported impressive interest in the new California at the Sydney Motor Show.
While a number of key luxury brands refused to attend, Ferrari used the show and the publicity generated by the California to bump the car's pre-order book up from 150 to almost 200 buyers, and that's with pricing yet to be determined.
Deliveries of the Ferrari California will start mid-2009, when local specifications and prices will also be announced.
